Conversation Environment and Pollution

Conversation  Environment and Pollution

First part
A: Do you recycle?
B: Yeah, I do. How about you?
A: I only recycle glass.
B: I recycle everything! I recycle glass, paper, and plastic.
A: That’s cool. I guess you care about the environment a lot.
B: I do. I think people pollute way too much.
A: I don’t know a lot about pollution.
B: Well, there are many different kinds of pollution.
A: oh, really? Like what?
B: Yes. Air pollution and light pollution are two of them.

Second part

A: How do people prevent pollution?
B: Well, driving less and using clean forms of energy prevent pollution.
A: Don’t cigarettes pollute?
B: Yes, they do. People should be more considerate.
A: I think people should do more to protect the environment.
B: Me too. The government should also be involved.
A: I guess so, but it’s really the people’s responsibility.
B: What about businesses?
A: Businesses have gotten more mindful of the environment.
B: Yes, they have. I’m glad that car industries make hybrids now.
A: Me too. Electric energy and solar energy are really cool.
B: We should use solar energy more, it’s so smart!
A: I don’t know, I think electric energy is cooler.
B: Both of them are necessary.

Third part

A: Why do you think that?
B: Well, with all this overpopulation, humans are using up their resources.
A: This is true. We have to start looking for more.
B: Yeah, overpopulation is really a big problem.
A: It’s a big problem for people and for nature.
B: What do you think we should do about it?
A: Sadly, there isn’t much we can do.
B: At least people are looking for alternate forms of energy.
A: Yeah, some people think worrying about it is pointless.
B: I disagree with them.
A: Me too. They care too much about standards of living.
B: Well, you can have a high standard of living and still care about the environment.
A: I completely agree!
